My kids don't watch much TV. But last Saturday, I walked into the living room and came upon this:
PJ's, messy bed head, snuggled up in their blankies (Minnie Mouse for Smiley, Cars for Action). It made my heart smile.
But besides that, it took me back in time. Watching Saturday morning cartoons with my brother. No we didn't snuggle up and watch cartoons nicely. It was more like a wrestling match over the channel control ~ and no, I'm not talking remote control either. More like who could get by the other one to change the channel (by pushing buttons on the actual TV) to the cartoon they wanted to watch. This was our morning to watch cartoons, because well, they just weren't on TV ALL THE TIME like they are now.
Anyway, Here are a few of the cartoons I loved.... don't judge ☺
Ok, so I'm sure there were more but, What cartoons did you watch?

Something to think about Sunday
BEING
Definition: living; being alive
I've been busy.
My mind has been racing.
I've been stressed, and yet somewhat relaxed (huh?).
When life gets this way, I seem to get frustrated easily. Which is..... very frustrating. And it leads me to unconsciously examine my life path and seems to amplify all of my downfalls.
I feel like I am a good wife, mom, friend and child of God. I am loving, spiritual, helpful, and so much more, but it doesn't feel like it's enough, like I'm being enough. I mean, I love my family, but am I showing it enough, in my words and actions? I love my husband, but the spark that was there so many years ago is more like a candle now, I could be more romantic and spontaneous. There are so many moments when I feel stretched too thin, tired and short, moments I should step back, take a deep breath and relax. And while I'm fun (I think ☺), and I love to laugh it doesn't feel like it's enough.
For some reason I feel like I need to be more:
Loving
Romantic
Patient
Spiritual
Health conscious
Fit
Fun
Relaxed
Spontaneous
Organized
Creative
Is it possible to stop trying to "be more" and just accept who you are right now?
1 Samuel 16:7b
“For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.’ (NKJV)

Friday Funny
brought to you today by my kids:
First of all Smiley ~ the girl can NOT sit still when music is involved. She loves a good beat and her current favorite songs are Dynamite by Taio Cruz and G6 by Far East Movement and Just a Dream by Nelly. You can see for yourself in this horrible quality video :) By the way the song she is jammin' to is California Gurls by Katy Perry.

And a couple of jokes via Sassy and Action:
Why did the turkey cross the road?
Because he wanted to prove he wasn't a chicken.
☺
and
A man went to the toilet store to buy a toilet.
He had the choices of:
a wooden toilet
a glass toilet
or
a singing toilet.
He tried the wooden one and it gave him a sliver.
He tried the glass one. It shattered.
He tried the singing one and he liked it. So he bought it.
That night, in the middle of the night he had to go to the bathroom.
When he sat on his new singing toilet it started singing,
"DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE?"
☺
ba-dump-bump!
Happy Friday!!!!

Happy Birthday Little Man!
Yep, I'm getting sentimental today.
I can't believe my little guy is 7 years old.
His birthday was this past Saturday. We had family in town visiting, we went snow tubing with friends, and ate some yummy cupcakes (with quickly formed fondant snow tubes on them ~ my color gels were lacking and I only had black and girly colors on hand so we went with all black tubes). We went out for dinner at Applebee's (not his first choice, but on a Saturday night at 7pm without reservations, the choices are limited when you have 7 hungry people), and I am still kicking myself for not having my camera ready when the staff came out clapping and singing birthday wishes to him. Oh, the look of crazy embarrassment on his face was PRICELESS!
We had a blast, and to top it off, Sunday night the Steelers won ~ a perfect end to a perfect weekend!
However, like I said before, I am a little sentimental today.
Time goes way to fast. I need to remember to make sure I take the time to stop, enjoy and savor the big moments, but especially the little moments of life. It is so easy to get wrapped up and busy with everyday life that I don't let myself sit and savor the smiles and the giggles and the daily celebrations ~ you know, a good grade on a test or a basket during a basketball game. I rush too much when we make cookies together, or read a book ~ I want to get them done because I have this and this and this to do, or it's time for bed, we'll read more tomorrow. I need to stop rushing so much and start reveling in the beauty of the everyday.
Cheers to you Action!
My little man who:
has a contagious smile
love sports
is sensitive
is a little freaked out at the sight of blood
is nervous to lose his first tooth
loves sweets
adores his sisters (even if he does fight with them)
is becoming quite the little student at school
savors reading books with Dad and Mom before bed
is kind of addicted to his new DSi
and who always has a twinkle in his eye
I love you!

Friday Funny
I got up this morning to take my dog for our morning walk and saw this:
No, you are NOT imagining things.... it says -22.5
(and it was/is warmer than 56.5 in my house ~ the thermometer is in a window)
Brrrrrrrr
We did NOT go for a walk.
My poor pup barely made it to the yard to relive herself.
So while this is not funny, this did made me giggle a little bit (although, like me and the weather this morning, he maybe didn't see any humor in it):

Embrace the Camera
Pick her up
Flip her upside down
Savor the sound of her laughs
A perfect moment ~ caught by a self-timer
but pay no attention to the laundry on the back of the couch, the wet hair piled into a gorgeous bun and some fabulous goofy faces by yours truly:

Something to Think About Sunday
I ♥ me some Dove milk chocolate.
But I typically only buy myself these little treats this time of year (just 'cause I'd eat them all.the.time...)
Who knew something so simple could be so good for my tummy AND make me think (an not about working out ☺)
Remember to watch for the simple things ~ they might just be able to teach you something.

I had this problem
Hers were scratched and getting too small for her face.
*disclaimer ~ hubby took these and his camera skills need some work ☺
