Embrace the Camera

His goal for 1st grade is to "learn about books and read"

He told me he's "not really in to school" although I think he's coming around.

His favorite parts of the day are lunch, gym and recess.

And he REALLY doesn't like to do homework.

Last night, once his math sheets were finished, we moved on to the dreaded spelling list.  Practicing for his  test today.  Last week, he got 9 of 10 words correct.  Which one did he spell incorrectly?  None, he just forgot to write one down, because he was "chatting and didn't hear what his teacher said".  Come on Action..... foooocusssss and.... no talking during a test Silly!

an actually moment of homework where he doesn't look like he is being tortured.  AMAZING :)

Embrace the camera and you'll always remember those little moments with the one's you love!

Mail

Call me old fashioned, but come 11:30  I am ready.

I love to see that little white truck drive up.

I love mail.

You know, actual paper ~ written on, addressed, stamped and delivered.  By hand.

The stuff you can hold and feel.

Hmmm, coupons, ads (I'm always looking for a deal ☺) a newspaper from our catholic diocese, and one from my hubby's home town.

I love getting a new glossy magazine

Being inspired by design and food

And these:

Are you kidding? Yes, I want to:

Lose Weight
Boost my energy
AND
Eat more Pasta!
(I always tell my husband that I hate it when they super impose someone else's head on my body ☺)

And of course I would like some fabulously frightful ideas from Miss Martha!

Who doesn't want to
Unlock their inner SUPERSTAR?

Other times it's a letter, card or a thank-you note.

Maybe it's weird, but these little things make me smile.

But this:

from someone I've never even met, made my heart jump a little.

Seriously, look at the beautiful things she sent:

* An amazing cuticle creme.  I could rub this stuff in all day long.  And my nails are shouting "THANK  YOU!!!"

* These beautiful warm, cozy and handmade mittens ~ I am secretly wishing for cooler temps so I can wear them and not look weird ☺!

* And the purple pouch.....

oh, just look:

I just love it.  As does Sassy ~ I convinced her I got to wear it first, because my name was on the package and not hers.  And you guessed it, I haven't given it up yet ;)

This wonderful package sent to me by an amazing person ~ Miss Treat Girl.

A woman who is busy taking care of her family, running here and there with her kids, putting herself aside so others can be put first.

A woman who in the midst of everything going on in her life took the time to think of me.

Reminding me to pay it forward and make someone else's day!

Thank you Treat Girl ~ you are the icing on the cake.... I mean cupcake ☺!

Friday Funny

Edge Designs is an all-women run company that designs interior office space.

They had are recent opportunity to do an office project in NYC.

The client allowed the women of this company a free hand in all design aspects.

The client was a company that was also run by all women execs.............

The result ...........well.....
We all know that men never talk, never look at each other....
and never laugh much in the restroom....

The men's room is a serious and quiet place...

But now...with the addition of one mural on the wall......
lets just say the men's restroom is a place of laughter and smiles.

Have a great weekend!
I hope it is full of laughs and smiles!

Embrace the Camera

One last quiet moment with only Smiley yesterday,
before the other 2 came busting through the door fresh from a full day of school.

(bummer about the glare)

I'd been trying all night to get a picture of my Action and I.

I kept ending up with different versions of this:

As you can see, he REALLY likes to get his picture taken.

So, I gave him a piece of my mind:

I think he's scared!

HA!

Perspective

Unfortunately as we get older, it seems we get more serious.
We have more to worry about.
More to do.
Business to attend to.

We can find ourselves going through life on auto pilot.
Running from here to there,
Checking off the "to do" list.

Sometimes we need to step back, take a breath and look at the world through the eyes of a child.

May you find joy in the simple things today!

and remember,

The most wasted of all days is one without laughter.

Friday Funny

contribution from my hubby:

A Guy Fairy Tale

Once upon a time, a Prince asked a beautiful Princess "Will you marry me?”

The Princess said "No."

So, the Prince lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and went fishing and hunting and played golf and dated women half his age and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up.

The End

Hmm, sounds to me like she made the right decision  ;)

They Survived

Yesterday was the first day back to school for my kiddos.

Smiley ran right up to the step for "her turn"

~ and then tried to keep up ~

They left excited and came home smiling, but tired.

I figured Smiley and I would have a quiet day ahead of us.  Not the case.

Once the bus pulled away we were off:
A nice hard workout for me and a little daycare/friend time for Smiley.
Grocery shopping
Playing
6 dozen cookies made.
and
the next thing I knew the bus was pulling up at the corner.

Time flew.

Our routine is slowly coming and then hopefully I will find my scrapbook/craft room clean it and then USE it!

A Glimpse

God is everywhere,
in everything,
you just need to stop and look around and savor.

A glimpse of God on our vacation:

the beauty of change

The beauty of a sunset
(I'm a sucker for sunsets)

and a full moon

the beauty of animals

Click here: to hear their sound

bald eagles
(you'll have to take my word for it, I was a little slow with the camera)

and

Beautiful
Amazing
God
EVERYWHERE!

Have you caught a glimpse?
