These 3

These 3
 Are such a blessing!
Their smiles and spirits are contagious
I am proud to be their mom and my heart overflows

Today is the day..

The day my little man turns EIGHT.

Where does the time go?

It goes, and it goes fast!

So I am going to savor each and every joke he tells (good or bad), every smile he gives,

the contagious laughter that  spews from this little guy,

the stories and thoughts he comes up with ~ like this one (read conversation #2)

The goofy things he does

the snuggles he gives and his thoughtful ways.

As well as the struggles and trying times,

because this is my son and I adore him!

Happy Happy Birthday!

Happiness

The other day, Sassy, her friend, and Action were outside playing.
I looked out the window and this is the sight I saw:

Dreaming, hoping, wishing they were in the neighbors pool splashing around.

It was a good time to remember sometimes you don't get everything you want.

I admit I am not perfect. I am guilty of desiring and craving the "things" other people have.

When this happens, you have to decide to make the best what you do have.  And when you can finally let go of your (unnecessary) wants and desires by finding a way to enjoy the gifts you have been given, jealousy subsides and happiness intrudes!

"Happiness doesn't come as a result
of getting something we don't have,
but rather of recognizing and
appreciating what we do have."

Embrace the Camera

Cheating Style.

Because we FINALLY had a "real" photographer take some family pics ~ you can find out why by going here.

So today, there are no self-timers, no outstreached arms, not reflected shots, no fabulous child photographers.

Just our family and an actual professional :)

Something to think about Sunday

Rewind to May.......

My little sister was graduating, and we were sitting in a huge gym listening to and watching high school seniors revel in the ending of one chapter in their lives and the beginning of a new one.

As I listened the speakers mentioned that as we move through life we simply need to remember to:

Use common sense
Have Fun
Set Goals
Work Hard
Love
and
Learn from the mistakes we make along the way

Always remember that this is your life
~ live it.
And live with out regrets!

A baby

One of my dearest friends had a baby on Monday.

A beautiful baby girl.  She has 3 older brothers who will guide her, play with her, love her and protect her.  Not to mention a mother and father who dreamt of her, prayed for her and are more deeply blessed because of her. What a lucky little girl.

I saw her tonight.

I held her in my arms.

So tiny ~ so precious.  An  (extra~ordinary) ordinary miracle from God.

It got me thinking.

No matter our age, gender or race, we are all miracles.  We all have a purpose.

There is a song I know ~ it was written by David Haas and goes something like this,

We are called to act with justice.
We are called to love tenderly.
We are called to serve one another, to walk humbly with God.

We are called to be hope for the hopeless,
so all hatred and blindness will be no more!

Anyway, she is a beautiful girl.

And my wish for you little girl and for all you stopping by to visit today ~ as sung by Rascall Flatts

I hope the days come easy and the moments pass slow
And each road leads you where you want to go
And if you're faced with the choice and you have to choose
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you

My wish for you
Is that this life becomes all that you want it to
Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small
You never need to carry more than you can hold

I hope you never look back but you never forget
All the ones who love you and the place you left
I hope you always forgive and you never regret
And you help somebody every chance you get

May you have a blessed day!
