We decided TO... Then we decided NOT TO...

And then...

We decided TO.

And I am so glad we did!

We decided to unplug and spend a week away. Away from work, laundry, housework, the computer, cell phones.....

We rented a little cabin in the woods

On a lake

Where we spent time with...

EACH OTHER.

I think I just might be reliving this vacation all week ~ won't you come along?

Something to Think About Sunday

I just finished another book yesterday and there was this one quote I kept thinking about:

"The question you gotta ask isn't Why? or If? The question is How?"

Couldn't we all use this advice at times?

Chicken Caesar Wrap

Since lunch was the topic yesterday, I thought I would stick with that and present you with one of my favorite things!

A chicken caesar wrap!

So Yummy and Super EASY!

Ready?
Here we go...

Chicken Caesar Wrap (makes about 2)

Ingredients:
2 tortilla wraps (I prefer either mission spinach herb or garlic herb wraps)
2 chicken breast, cooked and cut into bite sized pieces
4 cups romaine lettuce, torn or cut into bite sized pieces
caesar salad dressing, any kind you prefer
red onion, chopped
parmesan cheese, grated

Directions:
Mix the chicken with the lettuce
Pour in a little salad dressing ( you can always add more!) And toss together

Pile onto the center of a tortilla/wrap
Sprinkle with onion and parmesan cheese.

Fold up the bottom of the wrap, then the sides and Voila ~ lunch is served!

Hope you like it!

Key Chain

About a week ago, on a blog called U Create there was a fabric key chain tutorial ~ Isn't it cute?

I had to try to make them!
So, I gathered up my supplies and went to work.

Here are the two I made:

Well, what do you think?

I think they turned out pretty good ~ especially considering my sewing machine needle broke and I did not have one that was the correct size to replace it! OOPS.

Want to make your own?

Should you decide to make one for yourself, I would love to see it! Send me a picture of your finished product to ordinarymol@hotmail.com

it's not the end.

Friday Funny

There is a blog I like to look at every now and then called Cake Wrecks (The name says it all ~ check it out there are some doozies!).

Anyway, I was checking it out about a week ago and decided if my husband got me this cake for my birthday this week I would be less than thrilled. (you can read this post by clicking here)

YIKES!

Since he didn't get me this cake (the kids and I made one together) I find this quite humerous ~ I wonder if her husband does?

Hope it makes you smile as well!

9 months and counting....

Smiley had her 9 month well baby check yesterday. (Yes, I know, she will be 10 months in a couple of days.)

She is a very healthy, happy, tall and lean little girl.

Check out her stats:
Height: 30 1/4" ~ 95%
Weight: 17 lbs 8oz ~ 10%
Head: 45.5 cm ~ 75%

And now, just to compare:

Sassy at 10 months:
Height: 28 1/2"
Weight: 16 lbs 12 oz
Head: 45 cm

Action at 9 months:
Height: 29" ~ 75%
Weight: 16 lbs 11 oz ~ 5%
Head: 43.5 cm ~ 10%
They are consistantly long and lean!
(Click here to revisit her 6 month stats)
Back to Smiley.
She is crawling although usually it's army style. I would think it would be easier to crawl around on all 4's, but she does it her way. She is sleeping through the night ~ ok, has been since she was 5 weeks old basically but I am still appreciating it (Action still gets up most nights to use the bathroom or get a drink) She loves to eat and will eat about anything I give her. She is becoming more independent and like to eat finger foods. However, she isn't real keen on getting her fingers too messy. For example, yesterday for lunch ~ pasta with a tomato sauce and chicken puree ~ not loving the fact that I expected her to feed herself. She kept looking at her hands and was very happy when I took over with a fork! She has pulled herself to standing but doesn't quite know what to do after that. She is becoming quite a noise maker. Words I can make out are "dada", hi ~ more like "ha", and mama ~ "nana". She likes to play pat-a-cake and think she's hot stuff when she pulls a blanket over her head and plays peek-a-boo.

She has 1 bottom tooth all the way through and one beginning its way with many more on the verge.

(please excuse the very messy face, but can you see the teeth?)

And this baby loves to dance ~ most times she bops up and down, but last night she was shakin' it!

Anyway, Smiley is an amazing gift from God and she brings me joy everyday!
She is growing and changing so quickly that I need to remember to slow down and enjoy every moment!

Love you baby girl!

Sloppy Joes

Action is a bit of a picky eater. However he LOVES these ~ he actually ate 2 last night for dinner, so I thought I would share this easy, yummy recipe.

Sloppy Joes

1lb hamburger
2 Tbs. sugar
2 Tbs. mustard
1Tbs. vinegar
1/2 cup ketchup
chili powder, to taste
salt and pepper, to taste

Brown your hamburger, then add in the rest of the ingredients.

Serve on buns.

We like ours with extra mustard and pickles.

YUMMY!

Thanks

Quickly want to say thanks to everyone who left me a happy birthday message, on here, via e-mail, phone, facebook, everywhere!

I had a nice day. Since Action was feeling much better (thanks also for your thoughts for him), but still not quite himself we took it easy and hung out at home. Not quite what I had planned, but lovely as I was with some of the most important people in my life.

I had planned a little of this:

Mmmmm Hazelnut coffee to start the day

Along with some of this:

And then maybe a little of this:
Unfortunately not at this location, but a pool and some sun almost anywhere
~I love it!

And some more of this:

However, like I said before, with Action on the mend, we decided to hang out at home.

So I did LOTS of this:

I know, your jealous!

Made this ~ with Sassy and Actions's help

Got ready with my Sassy girl:

Ate here with our family and some friends:

And enjoyed my family!
For those of you who know us yes, an explanation is needed: On the way home from dinner, we stopped at a store to get my hubby some new sunglasses. We also found new jersey's for the kids. Action went against the grain of the family choice and decided on a new team. Poor boy ~ he will soon learn about loss and heartache.
