That brings me to today. I'm tired of storing my ribbon in drawers, shoe boxes and other containers, so I made myself a handy dandy ribbon holder.
Ready?
You need a piece of wood (I used an 11x14 unfinished wood plaque), some dowels (make sure they will fit through the centers of your ribbon spools), a drill and some paint ~ if you wish
Mark off on your wood, where you want each dowel to go (space them out using your spools of ribbon). Drill a hole in each spot the making sure the holes are the same diameter of your dowels.
Then if you want, prime and paint the board and the dowels, but be careful not to fill your holes up with paint!
When it is all dry, drop some wood glue into the holes and put in your dowels. I used a rubber mallet to make sure they were in tight. Check to see if they are straight (some of my dowels had a little curve to them, but for the most part they ended up straight ☺) Then, let it dry.
Once it's dry, add your ribbon and VOILA ~ easy peasy, handy dandy, ribbon storage!

That's so awesome! I did something exactly the same! Great minds think alike! :)
great idea...and super simple too!
I love this idea!! Cute cute!
You know who needs this? The Treat Girl! She has tons of ribbon - I'll have to show her this!
I love how it's so streamlined and doesn't unravel like the ones that thread on sideways like a roll of toilet paper.
Just watched "you forgot the blueberries" - classic!
I just linked over through Someday Crafts, and love this tutorial. I've got something similar going on with my ribbon storage, but the bases are so light that they keep falling over! I'm going to have to go get myself a wood plaque now! Thanks for the idea!
fun fun. i pretty much need some more ribbon i think. for sure girl! :)
YOURS, MINE AND OURS
What a great idea! I will definitely be making some of these soon. Thanks for sharing.
