Not me Monday

Ah, its Monday, and you know what that means don't you?

Time for a few of the things I FOR SURE did not do. Because I am extremely organized and ALWAYS on top of things.....

I did not for example schedule a girls night out for the exact same night as Sassy's only 3rd grade concert. Yep, the one that she has a solo in. Nope, I would never forget about that.

And this morning, when I was squeezing in a quick e-mail check, I absolutely did not look at the clock on the computer, see 7:30 and think to myself hmmm, I have gotten a lot accomplished this morning in 35 mins. I had showered, fed the kids, finished the dishes and started laundry. I certainly didn't think "dang the kids don't have to be at the bus stop for another 50 minutes". And never, never would I then realize that that clock was one of the ones that never "sprung ahead". Of course we didn't miss the bus and I didn't have to drive them to school with 3 minutes to spare. Not me. Like I said, I am ORGANIZED!

So what haven't you done lately?

Something to thing about Sunday

Slow Dance

Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-round,
or listened to rain slapping the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight,
or gazed at the sun fading into the night?

You better slow down, don't dance so fast,
time is short, the music won't last.

Do you run through each day on the fly,
when you ask "How are you?", do you hear the reply?

When the day is done, do you lie in your bed,
with the next hundred chores running through your head?

You better slow down, don't dance so fast,
time is short, the music won't last.

Ever told your child, we'll do it tomorrow,
and in your haste, not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch, let a friendship die,
'cause you never had time to call and say hi?

You better slow down, don't dance so fast,
time is short, the music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere,
you miss half the fun of getting there.

When you worry and hurry through your day,
it's like an unopened gift thrown away.

Life isn't a race, so take it slower,
hear the music before your song is over.

Friday Funny ~ It's that time!

For

MARCH MADNESS!

No that doesn't mean I'm going crazy over here spring cleaning, wardrobe rotating or redecorating.....

Well, maybe a little bit of all 3 of those things, but really I'm thinking BASKETBALL!

Ok, you got me.

I'm not usually this excited about college basketball.

However.....

When I am invested, I become extremely competitive.

And, I am invested or will be... SOON!

So for all of you who are thinking about filling out your own NCAA brackets this year, here are some not so good tips:

1.  Pick the team with the tougher mascot

2.  Go with the team whose school colors you like better

3.  You could always just flip a coin.

or just maybe you should....

4.  Cut out the names of the teams and have your child (or a friends child) draw them out of a hat.

Every year my goal, besides winning it all is to beat my Hubby.  Unfortunately that hasn't happened yet.
Maybe this will be my year.
Maybe I should watch as much basketball as he does.
Maybe NOT.

Now, my question to you:
Do you get sucked into this little thing called March Madness?

Do you have any not so good tips you'd like to share (so I can attempt to avoid them ☺)

Penne with Prosciutto

I got this recipe from a friend; who got it from her sister or was it sister in law.... anyway.... 1 word: YUMMY!

Penne with Prosciutto

Ingredients:

1 lb Penne Pasta
2-3 T butter
1 large sweet onion, diced
1/2 - 3/4 lb prosciutto, finely chopped
4 oz frozen baby peas
6-8 oz heavy cream
Parmigiano Reggiano ~ to taste

Directions:

1.  Cook Penne pasta ~ al dente, then set aside
2.  Saute diced onion until transparent
3.  Add prosciutto to the onion and brown until slightly crispy (around 10 mins)
4.  Add frozen peas, pasta, and heavy cream (start on the low end 6 oz ~ you can always add more).  Heat through.
5.  Add Parmigiano Reggiano to taste and more cream if necessary.

Dig in and ENJOY!

and if you try it, let me know what you think ☺

Simple tip for organizing all the toys

Ready?

Gather up some toys.

Get some of these:

A little help from Google Images, some clear packaging tape and

you are set!

Labeled toy bins.

and welcome to our semi unfinished storage/playroom where the lighting is HORRIBLE:

1st stop, baby, toddler and kid clothes.  All labeled with size and gender (because seeing pink in there isn't enought of a clue ☺).  And yes, I am hoping to get these things cleared out this spring/summer as I believe it will no longer be needed.

On to the toy bins:

lovely and organized ~ perfect when the kids are looking for something or putting something away.
And works great when you host a play date and everyone wants to help put things away
~ no more questions!

Something to Think About ~ feeding the wolves.

A friend of mine posted this on her facebook page the other day and
I LOVED it and wanted to pass it on to you.

One day an old Native American grandfather was talking to his grandson.

He said, "There are two wolves fighting inside all of us -
the wolf of fear and hate,

and

the wolf of love and peace."

The grandson listened, then looked up at his grandfather and asked, "Which one will win?"

The grandfather replied, "The one we feed."

Which one are you feeding?
