Early Morning

Embrace the camera snuck up on me this week ~ you know the challenge to actually get in the picture and not always be the one taking the pictures.
So, this morning as I was heading out the door to go work out, I snapped some lovely pictures to share with you:

And After a good speed interval run and some weight work:

So lovely and sweaty!  :)

Smoothie Time

After a really hard workout (a 797 calorie burn actually)  I was needing a protein pick me up.

So, when we got home from the health club ~ it was a fruity smoothie for her
and a protein smoothie for me.

Mmmmm......

Embrace the Camera

It was a beautiful night, so we decided to go on a looooonnnnng family bike ride.

We took a pit stop at a beautiful location and I had my camera out and was snapping pictures when all of a sudden my hubby said, "Hey, give me the camera and I'll get a picture of you and the kids."
Ummm....

"OK!"

So here we are all hot and sweaty on on a fabulously hot summer evening:

Something to Think About Sunday

Did you know that this week is designated as "Eliminate Fat Talk" week.

What does this mean?

It means, can you go the entire week not putting yourself or others down because of weight, or another physical attribute?  Can you embrace who you are and love yourself for it?

Instead of saying something negative about your body or someone elses body, can you change your thinking and find something positive in yourself or other person.  Try it for a week ~ I dare you.   Even better, continue that week on indefinitely!

We are all beautiful, we are all different and unique ~ Embrace the person you are!

Be Healthy
Be Confident
Be Happy
Be Yourself

Spread the word and don't forget to share a compliment :)

Be Blessed!

Friday Funny ~ Lets Exercise!

I love to exercise and with swimsuit season right around the corner,
what could be better motivation?

I enjoy lots of different workouts, but mainly I run, spin... as in cycle, and lift weights.

I just came across this exercise clip ~ from a real company ~ I couldn't help but laugh.

What do you think?

Personally, my family might think I'm crazy.

Happy maybe, but crazy.

Lets Spin!

On Wednesdays, I like to go to a spin class at the health club we belong to. The instructor is amazing. She has great music and lots of energy. The class is typically 1 hour long although she likes to throw in some 1 1/2 hour and 2 hour classes just for punishment fun.

I love to watch my heart rate monitor of course to keep track of my heart rate but really, I love to see my caloric expenditure keep on ticking ~ up and up and up! Yesterday was 723 calories and I didn't finish the entire class because I was tired and ready to be done some little girl doesn't like to be in the daycare at the club without her siblings! LITTLE STINKER!

Anyway, Action knows how much I like spin class and so he devised a way to try it for himself. Creative little bugger I have here.

Check this out:

He takes his bike and props up the training wheels.
AND
Voila ~ there you have it, your very own spin bike. He actually asked me to take his spin class! I think I might just need a bigger bike though!

This is why...

On Wednesday and Saturday mornings there is a spin class that I love going to. The music is upbeat and the instructor is extremely energetic. I can easily burn 600 - 700 calories in an hour during this class. What a great way to start the day!

The obvious caloric benefits and the energetic feeling I get however, are not the only reasons I go to this class or work out in general....

This may have a little something to do with it:

Just so everyone knows, I blame this on my darling husband! When I was younger, we did not have "dessert" after every meal. However, after my husband and I got married (almost 10 years ago ~ WOW) I learned that the man eats meals, just so he can have dessert (ok, maybe not entirely ~ but he does have a sweet tooth and usually likes something sweet after lunch and supper). And because of his sweet tooth, I have seemed to have sprouted one as well! YIKES!

So, until that tooth of mine falls out (not literaly) I am destined to have to hit the health club. Good thing I enjoy it!

The details

The other day, the weather was gorgeous so I decided to skip the health club and go for a jog around the neighborhood. I got the baby in the jogging stroller and Action decided he wanted to ride his bike with us. Lets just say the 1.75 miles turned into a 40 min jog. Action insisted we stop at every other corner so he could stretch and shake out his legs. When we made it back home he requested my caloric details from my heart rate monitor. Have I created a monster? He then decided he would like a heart rate monitor of his own. A 5 year old looking to see his average heart rate and caloric expenditure. Funny!
