Get your Face on

Well, one of the blogs I like to read is having a blog party.
It's called GET YOUR FACE ON

Ready?

Before ~ fresh after a workout at the gym, trip to Target, and time with the kids.
one word: WOW.

I would like to explain that this is a typical day ~ you know no showering before 1pm.
And I am a very simple make up girl.

Ready?

Cleanse ~ I use one of these products depending on exfoliating needs.

War Paint:

Moisturizer with SPF

Eye Cream

Foundation (have yet to find one I love, but I like this for the different shades ~ you know winter face and summer face)

Bronzer, which in this picture looks really dark, but once applied is not .

Blush

Eye Liner

Mascara

Lip Gloss ~ although today it was lip stick, because the gloss I like was downstairs.

Thats it ~ maybe 5 mins worth.

and

~ Voila ~

But now my hubby is going to come home from work and wonder what got into me today :)

The Jesus Tree ~ A Project for Lent

Lent, in Christian tradition, is the period of the liturgical year leading up to Easter. The traditional purpose of Lent is the preparation of the believer — through prayer, penitence, alms giving and self-denial — for the annual commemoration during Holy Week of the Death and Resurrection of Jesus, which recalls the events linked to the Passion of Christ and culminates in Easter, the celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Above definition from Wikipedia

So for my family, tomorrow marks the first day of Lent.

This year along with a friend, I am making a Jesus Tree. This is basically a felt banner of a tree with 47 different felt ornaments. Then for each day of lent you find the correct ornament/symbol and read the correlating verse of scripture. The intent is to give your children (although I may learn something myself) a visual and hands on way to learn about Jesus' life.

The purpose of Lent is to be a season of fasting, self-denial, Christian growth, penitence, conversion, and simplicity. Lent, can be viewed as a spiritual spring cleaning: a time for taking spiritual inventory and then cleaning out those things which hinder our corporate and personal relationships with Jesus Christ and our service to him. (Statement take from http://www.churchyear.net/lent.html)

This was a packet ordered through the Parents Group I belong to at our local church. Basically it's a bunch of patterns and instructions (with a disclaimer to share).

I currently have my symbols made through day 13. Since there are 47 total, I have a few more to make. But once it is done, we will have it forever.

So, if you are interested and would like the patterns ~ sent me an e-mail at ordinarymol@hotmail.com and I will get them to you.

Our Weekend

And if you're wondering, we made these "crystal" hearts with pipe cleaners, water, and borax ~ science at it's finest :)

Although I was bummed that I couldn't get a babysitter for Saturday night (you know for a HOT date with my hubby ie. not having to cut up anyone else's food but my own during dinner) our weekend turned out LOVELY!

Friday night Sassy had a basketball game ~ unfortunately they lost, but it was not without effort.

I headed to a Premier Jewelry party and purchased a few new accessories. It was so nice to hang out with a bunch of ladies! No testosterone to be found (ok, my friend's husband was there, and kept busy by filling drinks and cracking jokes).

Saturday. I woke up in SHOCK!
The clock read 8:41.
WHAT are you kidding? I can't even tell you the last time I was in bed when that time appeared on the clock.

Once the initial shock wore off, I just smiled!

Sassy and Action had a birthday party to go to at a family friends house from 1-4.
When we arrived to pick them up afterwards, we were met by our friend (Yes, the drink getter from Friday night) with the sentence, "Hey Guys, it's 5 o'clock somewhere!" That sealed the deal. Our 4 o'clock pick up turned into a 10 o'clock evening spent with great friends.

Sunday.

Church.

Breakfast out with friends.

Relaxation.

A Nap.

Homemade heart shaped pizza (you can tell it's a heart, right?)

A wonderful day!

Did you have a good weekend?

That's my Action

Action plays basketball every Tuesday.

Tonight they were playing the game "Mr. Fox" while dribbling up and down the court.

Action was Mr. Fox along with a few other kids who had already gotten "caught" as well. So they were doing the catching.

After one series of chasing, Action came running over to me to give me a High-Five. Not to mention he had a HUGE grin on his face. Right after he slapped my hand he yelled "Hey mom, I got that girl!" Oh, I think I may have my hands full with this one.

He is also the boy who last year while dining at a Florida restaurant when we were on vacation could NOT stop smiling at the waitress. When she walked away after taking our orders my Darling Husband said to him, "You think she's cute, don't you?" Actions smile grew even wider and he became speechless. All he could do was shake his head (that would be a "yes").

It's official

I'm giving myself a SNOWDAY!

(I know, we are only expected to get 5-9" ~ nothing compared to MANY of you out there in blog land, but it's a nice excuse to skip the Health Club today)

Meaning....

The kids just left for school.

The coffee is brewing.

and now it's time to:

clean up after our Superbowl get together from yesterday (thinking I should have soaked these babies last night, but was too tired).

and

since it's monday.....

LAUNDRY!

With a little help from this one ~ I'm sure:

Oh, and one more thing:  since I'm not going to the health club today would it be wrong to eat this for breakfast with my coffee?

a chocolate mint cupcake with swiss meringue buttercream from Marzipan's blog ~ made these yesterday and have one word for them ~YUM

What are you doing today?
